The U.S. is falling behind in technology.  This is due to several things.  One is that technology jobs are being lost to other countries.  For example, many of the most popular software programs you use are from other countries.  The software world is now global and you will see many countries like Germany, the Netherlands, and India take a larger and larger portion of the software industry market share.  The hardware side of the business is also changing as more foreign countries are gaining market share in hardware.  Taiwan and China and Singapore are gaining market share in hardware technology.  The U.S. used to be the leader in both areas by far and is slipping backwards in both categories now.  Why is this?  Much of it has to do with education.  You have seen educational degrees like engineering fall off for Americans.  Continue reading »
