A Fun Way To Help The Environment

The obvious things to consider are hybrid cars, or alternate fuel vehicles, taking public transportation like light rail, or even walking or riding a bike more often. Lately, the most publicity has been given to electric cars. Chevy’s Volt that will be an electric-gasoline hybrid and the Tesla electric roadster. But most people won’t be able to afford $50,000 – $100,000 for an electric car, hampering the market. Plus, these expensive cars are being launched during the worst economic times in history. Even less expensive electric cars will have difficulty selling. Better battery technology, however, is the one thing that will make alternative electric transportation catch on. Lithium ion batteries can go much farther on a charge. They generate no pollution and hold their charges for a long time. Lithium batteries in notebook PC’s is the reason they are getting up to 8 hours on a charge instead of the old technology of nickel-metal-hydride which got half that at best. One form of alternate transportation spreading like wildfire is electric bikes. Electric bikes are selling all over Asia, especially in China where 22 million electric bikes will be sold this year. That is 10% of the population! Just 12 years ago, there were only 56,000 electric bikes sold in China. Europe is also beginning to buy many electric bikes. The Netherlands, Germany, France and Italy are all increasing their spending on electric bikes. After no sales just 3 years ago, India will surpass all of Europe in sales of electric bikes by next year. With so many eBikes being produced in China, you will also see tremendous economies of production scale come into effect and prices will start dropping, making an electric bike even more affordable. Right now, a good electric bike costs $1,500 – $3,500. Much cheaper than a car and more fun. It is not to show you that the spill is still gushing out into the water. It is to divert your attention away from the bigger problems that BP and the government are aware of. For months, BP has tried many different methods to try and stop the oil leak. Nothing has worked yet. And what caused the “plumes” of oil to show up far away from the well head leak weeks ago? BP has spent much money on PR and advertising, telling Americans that they will get this situation resolved and the mess cleaned up. Even if they can, will the coastline ever again be the same? Will the plants, fish, birds and wildlife survive and repopulate? Florida is spending millions on convincing people that their beaches are open and business is good. However, more people are canceling their trips to Florida each day. With the environment, tourism, industry, and the people all suffering, when will this situation start to turn around? And if it can’t be turned around, what will the outcome be for the US, BP, and the world? An Environment Of Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt

We provide Survival News Predictions to help you overcome any fear of the future you may have and empower you to prepare for what’s coming… While there are disasters like the oil spill in Louisiana destroying the surrounding environment and volcanoes exploding into the environment, disrupting the atmosphere and bringing air travel to a stop, there seems to be a general environment of fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD) encompassing the world. While fear, uncertainty and doubt is a tactic of rhetoric and fallacy used in sales, marketing, public relations, politics, and propaganda, it can also be used to describe an environment that people currently find themselves immersed in economically and culturally. An environment of FUD can be used to obscure issues, move masses of people in a certain direction quickly, and pit nation against nation. FUD can be applied to a large issue, like the global economic crisis, or to an individual where it leads to self-doubt, uncertainty about one’s future, and fear of making decisions. When a person or nation becomes immersed in FUD, sometimes they are able to take action and at other times not. Non-action leads to no risk taking which means missed opportunities that may have eliminated the FUD. Taking the action to make a decision despite FUD may not always work out, but taking the action alone helps to alleviate some of the FUD and makes it easier to continue making decisions. A volcano is an opening in the planet’s surface or crust that allows hot magma, ash, and gases to escape from below the earth’s surface. The word volcano comes from Vulcan, the Roman god of fire. Volcanoes can be active, dormant, or extinct, even though an extinct one can erupt again. Underwater volcanoes can trigger tsunamis. Ancients believed that volcanic eruptions were the work of the gods since the actions were so powerful. Others believed that volcanoes were the ducts for the Earth’s tears. Eruptions have been viewed as purifications or punishments dealt out by the gods. Volcanoes are the largest producers of CO2 gas in the world. Volcanic soil tends to be rich in minerals and sought after for fertilizer. Volcanoes are one of nature’s most powerful forces. They actually have much in common with earthquakes and landslides. Climate change is a likely candidate to trigger volcanic activity, landslides, and earthquakes. The balance is very delicate. Scientists are now claiming that even small changes in weather and climate can tear at the earth’s crust…causing earthquakes, landslides and volcanic eruptions.
