How Michigan Could Become The Next Greece

We provide Survival News Predictions to help you overcome any fear of the future you may have and empower you to prepare for what’s coming… The biggest political problem facing the US in the coming months is not unemployment, not the continuing decline of the housing market, not the weakening stock markets, financial regulation or even the oil spill. The most challenging problem that the political leaders of this country will have to face is keeping states from becoming Greece. Many states are much larger than Greece. In fact, California’s economy is larger than Russia’s. And although some states seem to be improving a little like Arizona, Illinois, New Jersey and New York, forty-six states face budget shortfalls this fiscal year. For the first time since 1962, state’s sales tax and income tax revenues fell for five quarters in a row. And it looks like it will continue this way for the future unless politicians in Washington do something. At their meeting, the G-20 nations all agreed that public debt needed to be trimmed significantly. But nobody knows how or wants to do it now. Governments and states all wanted to keep spending and adding to their debt so they can pay it back when the economy gets better. What if it doesn’t “get better?” What will politicians do if we do slide into the feared “double dip” recession? Won’t unemployment get worse? Won’t tax receipts go down even more? Won’t this force public spending up to compensate? Over 40 million people are already using food stamps. That means the economy is so bad for 40 million hungry Americans they can’t even afford to feed themselves. What will the states do and are we setting ourselves up for state “bailouts?” …Go ahead with your predictions and commentary…

President Obama And His Political Hot Potatoes

He’s got the biggest environmental disaster in US history with the oil spill in the Gulf, a growing unemployment problem, strained relations with Israel, more citizens losing their homes to foreclosure, two never-ending wars in the Middle East draining war chests and people’s patience, and the possible collapse of the financial systems of Europe and the domino effect it could have on US businesses and the economy. Like a hot potato, he seems to grab hold of each one only for a moment before throwing it to one of his team members, another foreign leader, Wall Street, or Congress; all the while trying to appeal to the American citizens, as diverse as they are in their thinking, that he really does desire to do what’s right for the country. He seems to have challenges explaining the “how’s” to people when he should be explaining the “what’s.” Politicians tend to argue and expound on how we got into situations when they should be assuring people that the “what’s” that need to be done are identified and being implemented. This cleared the road for likely passage of the most sweeping rewrite of financial rules since the Great Depression. Democrats and Republicans both agree the Senate will ultimately pass landmark changes aimed at preventing a recurrence of the crisis that destroyed the financial system of the US and brought the country to its knees in 2008. Now all that’s left to do is iron out the crucial details on how to keep these Moneychangers of the Wall Street Temple from ruining the country’s economy a second time. The Senate hearing on April 27th, featured an All-Star cast. A true Den of Thieves gathered for a tongue-lashing from the US Senators for whom they are the largest campaign contributors. The participants represented the top echelon of American greed, corruption, and truth obfuscation. For eleven hours, the committee grilled the executives from Goldman Sachs, the puppeteers of a political economy that exploits not only the poor and the unclean, but everyone who desires a taste of “risk.” In a single room, you had modern day moneychangers, lawyers, and politicians – the world’s experts on making distinctions between ethical behavior, human feelings, and criminal activity. It was amazing not only that the moneychangers felt they did nothing wrong, but their customers actually deserved what they got…a taste of risk; all the while they were collecting billions on bets they made against the products they were selling. The questioners couldn’t even get the moneychangers to agree that they should have the “best interest” of their customers at heart when dealing with them. What would Jesus do? What would Ron Paul do? Would he have run through this temple, knocking over the tables and whipping the moneychangers? You bet he would! Since lawyers and politicians were also present, he would have saved some energy to inflict some “risk” on them also. It must have been painful for some of the politicians to grille their campaign contributors knowing that elections are coming up soon. After all, not only do the moneychangers fund their coffers, but they also bribe and bully these spineless and greedy politicians (republican and democrat) through their lobbyists into writing and passing favorable legislation so they can continue their corrupt practices around the world unobstructed. And if that wasn’t enough, they get their former CEO’s and top executives into top Federal government cabinet posts where they control the flow of money, credit, and decide who gets bailed out because they gorged on risk. Afghanistan a political conundrum

Reuters reported that Afghan President Hamid Karzai said during a speech to 1500 tribal elders in Kandahar province on Sunday that he would prevent the upcoming NATO and US offensive in the region if it does not have the support of the local people. Karzai said that Afghanistan would be fixed when its people trust that the country’s government is not a puppet of the US and that its President is independent and that foreigners should not be allowed to meddle in the work of the Afghan government. Karzai said he told President Barack Obama that the country wants peace and security and cannot be fixed through warfare.
