Working Hard At A Job You Hate

It’s been estimated that at least 55% of Americans hate their jobs. And this is at a time when Americans are lucky to have jobs. Add to this that Americans are working longer hours than ever for less pay and benefits. For decades, income has not kept up with inflation and the cost of health insurance is also taking more of their take-home pay. You allow all this to happen because you are afraid of losing this wonderful job.

Working Hard At A Job That’s Not Interesting

A recent survey by the Conference Board research group shows that only about half of working Americans find their jobs interesting. Younger workers are the most dissatisfied with their jobs. When they graduated with that expensive degree, they found few opportunities, low wages, and zero satisfaction in the job market. They took what they could get and didn’t complain. Imagine if you are one of these younger workers and only have about another 50 years to work in jobs you have no interest in.

Working Hard At A Job You Love

Do you have a burning desire to do something specific with your life? Do you see yourself as a brilliant artist, musician, doctor, business owner, teacher, or carpenter? If so, you have a calling or a vocation and not just a job. When you work at a job you love, it doesn’t seem like work. It flows. Is Time On My Side – Yes It Is

When the Rolling Stones sang “Time Is On My Side” I wonder if they believed it? Is time really on your side? Or, is it something you never seem to have enough of? Chances are, you have more of it in this life than you did in previous ones. If you lived in the late 16th/early 17th century, you lived to about age forty. So, if you wanted to accomplish something significant, you had to hurry. Now, in this day and age, your odds of living to be 100 are greater than ever. Even if you live to age 80, you have twice as much time as your ancestors. Still time seems to move quickly, unless you’re serving it.

Is Time On My Side – No It’s Not

When people say, “If I only had more time, I could change!” What they mean is, “I wish I could use my time more effectively to change.” Or, if they are efficient users of time, this may mean they need help in order to change. Since time is an illusion, not having enough of it or having “too much time on your hands” really doesn’t make sense. It’s not something you run out of or can store up like groceries. People like to say, “My time is my own.” That’s true; of course your time is your own. Understanding how to use your time in order to change, however, is a different matter altogether. 

Is Time On My Side – No It’s Running Out

People always seem to think they have more time than they really do. If you are trying to accomplish something, get an education, build a business, support a cause, do a good job at work, or anything else, you only have 24 hours in each day to do it. You sleep 8 of those hours, spend time getting ready for the day by showering, shaving, drying your hair, doing your makeup, eating breakfast, traveling to your job or school, etc. and there’s a couple more hours shot. Then you work for another 8 hours or more. Wow, where has the day gone? You only have a few more hours left to exercise, eat, study, become a better person, work on your relationship, play with your kids/dog/or cat, catch up on the news, answer your emails, pay your bills, and update your Facebook page. No wonder people say they don’t take time to meditate and enjoy the now – they don’t have any “now” time. What they don’t realize is that it’s all now time. A minute ago is a long time ago. An hour from now may never come.

So, what’s the secret? How do you get control of your time and become a better person. Can you really improve your life by better understanding time – both the time you’ve spent already and the time you haven’t spent yet?

Massive Changes Coming Over The Next Few Months 

There will be massive changes coming over the next few months. Over the past several years our “Higher Intelligence Source” has been warning us all to get prepared. Hopefully, you have followed “their” suggestions and are ready for the new normal.

Massive Changes Will Cause An Awakening

These massive changes will cause a mass awakening. What used to have value to people will now be shifting. Those who are heavily invested in the material world will feel the most discomfort as these changes unfold. The houses and cars, vacations, shopping sprees and creature comforts of all kinds will seem to have been a foolish waste of time as well as money. With people shifting away from consumption, it will be more important than ever to recreate a life of purpose.

Massive Changes Will Breakdown The Old Structures

The old structures that have thrived since the industrial revolution will be breaking down at an accelerated pace. This forced change will make you examine where you have exposure to these old structures and why you will not be able to carry them forward with you into the future. We will see the collapse of stock markets, financial systems, and societal structures along with everything you have learned to depend on in the material world. Everyone will question the temporary nature of their physical reality and how they have spent their time thus far in this life.

Massive Changes And Inner Change

The awareness of the masses will be heightened but will not come without struggle. College graduates used to think they could change the world. Now, they just hope they can find a job.  What about the values you possess that give you purpose? It’s rare to meet a genuinely kind person in the corporate world. The business environment alone is set up to be competitive as people backstab and betray each other on their way to the top. In fact, exhibiting these qualities could make you appear weak and unfit for promotions no matter how good your work is. Picture everyone you meet as having their hand out. They are asking you to give them something as well as take something from them. …some money, some food, some comfort, some knowledge, or maybe just a smile. The Acquiring Phase Of Life

Over the past few years, many of our CR News Reports© members have endured many setbacks in their personal lives. Many are upside down on their real estate, lost their job or are working more hours for less money if they still have one. They can’t afford to put gas in their big SUV that they owe thousands on and vacations have become “stay-cations.” Their health care premiums keep rising along with the price of food, utilities, taxes and fees of all kinds. Over the years they have acquired multiple cars, rental property, boats, motorcycles, mountain bikes, ATV’s, water and snow ski equipment, camping gear and RV’s. Everybody seemed to have the latest tech gadget, smartphone, and computer equipment. There’s a big screen, art, and fancy furniture in almost every room in the house -even the rooms nobody uses.   People were in the “acquiring” phase of their lives.

Working To Pay For The Stuff

To pay for all the stuff, people keep working at jobs they hate, putting up with more than they should and feeling lucky they even have a job.  And let’s not forget about the kid’s college fund. Many parents tapped their retirement savings or took out loans to pay for college tuition. Now, college grads can’t find jobs and move back with their parents and they’re back on the “home payroll.” This makes it tough if the parents are unemployed. Now nobody can afford health care, or car payments, or mortgage payments, or property taxes, or trips, student loan payments, or any of the little luxuries you took for granted when things were “normal.”

Frogs In The Pot

As people saw things changing and getting worse, they didn’t believe it. Although they may have compromised and bargained, they put off the hard decisions they should have made. Instead of having that garage sale to raise some cash, they kept buying stuff, going on vacations, even buying new cars because “Cash for Clunkers” sounded like such a good idea. They continued to pay on their declining real estate as it crashed through the floor, and running up their credit cards believing it was all going to “turn around” and get better. They failed to stop the leak and now find themselves with little or no resources with the pot getting hotter.

Some Listened To The Warnings

While some members continued their attachment to “stuff,” for others the stress was too much and they took radical measures. They listened to the warnings they received in the CR New Reports©, and made changes in their lives that re-positioned them as things got worse. They stopped paying their mortgage, their credit cards, the car loans, and more. They took the money and invested in appreciating assets. They got rid of everything non-essential in their lives. They stopped consuming and feeding the system. They say they feel they’ve made the best decisions of their lives and have a sense of freedom they’ve never had before. They are optimistic about their future because they’re prepared and not scared.

We always spent some time together in the cereal aisle where Mom allowed me to pick out my favorite one. Back then, there were only a handful of choices, but we by no means thought we were deprived of variety. There was Cheerios, Wheaties, Corn Flakes, Raisin Bran, Rice Krispies, Frosted Flakes, Oatmeal, and if you really wanted to break away from the norm, there were Chex cereals. With these limited choices, I still had difficulty making one.

Today there are ten different types of Cheerios, several different Wheaties choices, Corn Flakes with all different types of fruit additives and flavorings, low-sugar brands, high-sugar treats, all-natural or organic brands, high-fiber, double-fiber, and a box of oatmeal with 15 different flavors in it. Now you have a myriad of choices and have more difficulty making a decision. So you make not just one choice, but several. You look in your cupboard at home and see a half a dozen or more boxes of cereal. Some even went stale while you were buying more. What happened?

We want our decisions to be meaningful and to make us happy. But they can also define our happiness and limit the future choices we are able to make. This is the dilemma of decision making. Is it better to listen to as much input as possible and make a decision? Or, to make a decision when we haven’t heard “all the facts?” Please help us with this stumbling block of Personal Development in our lives…

Some success coaches say it’s because many people don’t have goals. Others will say that they had the wrong ones. Still others say that they failed to write them down or that the goals were too lofty to achieve to begin with. Whatever the reasons, the goals weren’t realized. When goals aren’t achieved, people feel that they may have failed in some way. Maybe they’re okay with not achieving their New Year’s resolution, because next January will be here all too soon. But with larger goals, people may become depressed when they don’t achieve them. They may feel that they’re not good enough, a loser, or unable to change. It is the feeling of failure that puts many people into a repetitive cycle of setting goals, not achieving them, and then resetting goals. The goal becomes setting goals and looking like you are attempting to improve. Goals seem to be inseparable from Personal Development and Improvement, but more people seem to have goals than achieve them. With all the books, recordings, seminars, and money spent on setting and chasing goals, why aren’t people more successful in attaining? Is there something missing and, if so, what is it?
