Will you be embarrassed to have your friends over to your rental home? Even if it was nicer than that old shack you owned? We would observe that you never can own real estate – it always owns you. All mortgages are front-loaded with interest so the homeowner who pays $1,000 a month pays $950 of it in interest, which is a 95% loan. It’s only at the end of a mortgage that the interest is much less than the principal, but most people move in less than 10 years and start another mortgage over again.”
