Technology makes life easier for us; it opens doors to new scientific realms that were unavailable just a few years ago. It helps us to go faster, get more done, and learn in new ways. A new type or adaptation of technology can empower a generation to communicate in a way that changes the world.

Technology also has a great deal of pressure put upon it. It’s expected to pull us out of depressions, win wars, and protect the peace. It’s expected to lead us into a future that’s safe and sustainable. But technology doesn’t always come through as we expect it to? Sometimes we think that technology is the solution when, in fact, it can become the problem.

Do you embrace technology or do you shy away from it? If you are open to using technology to improve your life, can you use it too much? If you shun technology, are you keeping yourself from experiences that you might enjoy and find to improve your life?

Whatever your relationship to technology is, it’s as important as any other relationship. It has to contain a balance so it doesn’t rule your life or ruin it either. Baby boomers have seen technology change more things than any previous generation. And, what will technology do for us in the future? What will technology do to us in the future?
