Watching the two sides argue and nit-pick each other’s spending habits is like watching two people argue over who’s going to pick up the bar tab on the Titanic. Washington politics will be hard-pressed to ever serve up a solution as long as the “spending your way out of debt” mindset continues. Yet we are told that programs that require additional spending will somehow cut the future deficit. It’s almost like we’re watching a TV reality show where people gorge themselves on every type of junk food they can get their hands on for years until they can hardly function. Then, when their doctor tells them they have to lose weight or they’ll die, they start to exercise and trim down. Not all trim down though; some refuse to change and they die from their overindulgence and inability to alter their ingrained behavior. Years of poor political decisions by European countries have put them into serious financial straits. A third country now requires a bail out. Next, a fourth, fifth, and sixth will need one. Political dissension among the more stable European countries will force countries needing bailouts to go to the IMF. Citizens in this country watch Europe and think our political leaders would never let anything like what’s happening there, happen here. However, their reckless and relentless spending by U.S. politicians, combined with allowing their bankster friends free access to the Fed money spigots, will corrupt the political and monetary order of the country and the world; bringing about collapse of a system that may need one in order to rebuild and survive in the future. Both say they want a balanced budget, but neither wants to accept responsibility for the necessary cuts required to reduce the debt that these two parties created. Besides, both parties are so entrenched and heavily invested in pork project spending in order to appease voters so they can be re-elected, providing money and favors to their corporate and Wall Street puppet masters, and lining the pockets of their campaign contributors. The power mongering and the greed prevents spending from ever being cut.
