He’s got the biggest environmental disaster in US history with the oil spill in the Gulf, a growing unemployment problem, strained relations with Israel, more citizens losing their homes to foreclosure, two never-ending wars in the Middle East draining war chests and people’s patience, and the possible collapse of the financial systems of Europe and the domino effect it could have on US businesses and the economy. Like a hot potato, he seems to grab hold of each one only for a moment before throwing it to one of his team members, another foreign leader, Wall Street, or Congress; all the while trying to appeal to the American citizens, as diverse as they are in their thinking, that he really does desire to do what’s right for the country. He seems to have challenges explaining the “how’s” to people when he should be explaining the “what’s.” Politicians tend to argue and expound on how we got into situations when they should be assuring people that the “what’s” that need to be done are identified and being implemented.
