It is not to show you that the spill is still gushing out into the water. It is to divert your attention away from the bigger problems that BP and the government are aware of. For months, BP has tried many different methods to try and stop the oil leak. Nothing has worked yet. And what caused the “plumes” of oil to show up far away from the well head leak weeks ago? BP has spent much money on PR and advertising, telling Americans that they will get this situation resolved and the mess cleaned up. Even if they can, will the coastline ever again be the same? Will the plants, fish, birds and wildlife survive and repopulate? Florida is spending millions on convincing people that their beaches are open and business is good. However, more people are canceling their trips to Florida each day. With the environment, tourism, industry, and the people all suffering, when will this situation start to turn around? And if it can’t be turned around, what will the outcome be for the US, BP, and the world? Could this self-doubt be the opening that the charlatans in the self-help, personal development, and religion businesses use to enhance their lives and not yours? Is there really a “secret” to a fulfilling life? Or is life supposed to be a mystery where only you can ever find your own way? Apple The Technology Company Of The Future

So many people tried ordering an Apple iPhone 4 that both Apple’s and AT&T’s web sites buckled. Even with all the troubles, Apple took orders for 600,000 new phones! The order rate was ten times the order rate at the announcement of the last iPhone 3GS and 13 million AT&T users also requested upgrade eligibility. Apple’s stock is certainly reflecting their success as it continues on an upward climb. It is always a risk being a technology company that “pushes the envelope” on development and doesn’t wait for somebody else to invent the technology and then try to just improve on it. By being an innovator, Apple risks a lot up front. What if the product is a flop? Remember the Lisa? Apple seems to have enough rabid fans to sell a lot of units of most products. And what happens after all the cult followers buy? Although the cult followers are the early adopters of new Apple products, with Apple growing their new customer base so rapidly, it looks like the cult is growing at sizable proportions and they are not about to run out of new converts or people to buy new products anytime soon … Go ahead with your predictions and commentary…

Foreclosure activity continued to increase nationally also. The biggest problem facing the stabilization of the market is that supply and demand is also way out of balance. Estimates of the number of homes already in bank inventory is 1.1 million. However, the estimated number of homes in foreclosure or seriously delinquent and soon to go into foreclosure is 5 million. In addition there are another 5.3 million homeowners who have been waiting on the sidelines to sell when the market got better. Get ready for a tsunami of new inventory hitting the market. However, mortgage applications and pending sales data shows that housing demand is plummeting, especially after the expiration of first-time home buyer tax credits in April.
