Reuters reported that Afghan President Hamid Karzai said during a speech to 1500 tribal elders in Kandahar province on Sunday that he would prevent the upcoming NATO and US offensive in the region if it does not have the support of the local people. Karzai said that Afghanistan would be fixed when its people trust that the country’s government is not a puppet of the US and that its President is independent and that foreigners should not be allowed to meddle in the work of the Afghan government. Karzai said he told President Barack Obama that the country wants peace and security and cannot be fixed through warfare. He is beginning to blame his inability to govern and control his country on the US “occupation.” …Go ahead with your predictions and commentary…
