How to play my picks . . . I’ve explained before how to play my picks. . . watch for them to move the direction I said and look to take small profits rather than always hoping to hit a home run.   After your position moves in your favor by at least 1% – 2%, sell or cover 1/2 of it, moving your stop up to your entry point.  This way, you can’t lose money.  Let the remaining half keep running as long as you have positive momentum.  When you are up another 1% – 2% (total of 2% – 4% on the second half) consider exiting the second half of your position.  You have now made as much as 2% on the first half your investment and 4% on the other half for a total of 3% on the entire investment.  Don’t get greedy, as it could turn around on you.  If you are a day trader, this is $750 on a minimum $25,000 account!  That’s a good income over the trading year.  The secret is TIME + COMPOUNDING + MONEY = WEALTH!  You’ll have a big fat cat smile on your face when you make money! And don’t forget to donate some of those profits to your local animal shelter. You’ll be glad you did and good Karma will come your way. I guess I’m just a Philanthra-Puss?  OK, let’s make some extra “scratch!”

Last week was the anniversary of the bottoming out of the stock market.  It was March 9, 2009 when the market hit bottom.  Since then, the market has been on a trajectory almost straight up. Not all sectors though, are doing well.  Lately, it has been the banks and high-tech sectors that have been driving the markets.  Banks are the highest they’ve been in 16 months and they are still showing signs of strength.  Especially the larger banks like Bank of America, Citigroup, and JP Morgan Chase.  I see BAC and JPM as long plays and Citigroup as a possible takeover target.  I would buy some long-term, out-of-the-money calls on C and hold them.  BAC and JPM are more short-term plays with BAC being a good day trading stock.  Internet stocks and certain biotechs are also good plays.  Watch for Pfizer (PFE) to find support around 15.50 and go long.  Do not enter a long trade until the RSI on PFE is 20 or less.  I believe that Intel (INTC) can break through 24 and, once it does, it could go to 26.50 – 27.00.   Amazon (AMZN) is another strong runner.  It’s current momentum could drive it through 140 up to 155 before a pullback.  If you feel uncomfortable picking individual high-tech stocks, I would play the Nasdaq composite index or the QQQQ.  When playing the indexes, watch for the RSI to move up over 80 before you sell or short and go long when the RSI is under 20.  Don’t chase charts or try to guess which way an index or stock will go when the RSI is in “limbo”…over 30 and under 70.  Stick with the Psychic Cat stock market magic!

If you are playing the commodities market, especially gold and silver, I believe silver will outperform gold.  Watch for silver to close above $19.  This will indicate that a strong run up is forming.  If you are playing gold, I would recommend staying away from the metal and play the miners.  A good way to play them is the GDX (Gold Miners ETF).  Again, watch the RSI for lows and highs in conjunction with volume and not necessarily the price.  Take small profits as the price moves within the limits I outlined above.  Good trading!
