Week #6 of my diet. and I’m continuing to lose weight.  People are noticing and I’m getting “those” looks again from the girls in the neighborhood!  My goal is to lose the 4 pounds I put on over the winter and maybe more.  Check out my “Diet Page” at the top to see my “before” and “now” pictures.

I hope you didn’t get the swine flu?  Do you know anyone who got the swine flu?  Do you know anybody that knows anybody who got the swine flu?  I’ll bet you know someone who had their house foreclosed on though.  Isn’t that the real pandemic?  Losing your job, losing your house, losing your 401k, etc.  If only all the government agencies, health departments, politicians, and people who jumped on this “chaos of the moment” could have responded this fast when they saw the Wall Street flu spreading, then maybe we could have avoided a recession.  But what do I know?…I’m just a cat!

• Watch for GM to announce that they are filing for bankrupcy soon.  Selling European operations, getting rid of Pontiac, closing dealerships, getting rid of Hummer, GMC trucks, and anything else they try is too little too late and can never make up for product miscalculations, not listening to their customers, shoddy quality, and the stranglehold the unions had over them for decades.  And a $40,000 electric car is never going to be a hit.  Try $5,000 cars coming from China!  When people wanted a small, economic car, GM gave us the Vega; Toyota gave us a Corolla…and improved it every year for 40 years.  And once and for all, the American auto industry is any car company that has a plant here, employs Americans to build those cars and trucks, and pays those people in American dollars so they can spend that money here.  It is not any company that builds cars in Mexico or Canada.  You aren’t crying in your beer about Studebaker are you?  And you won’t miss Buick either.
